Thoracic Workshop
Thursday 0830 hrs
Hall III

The first part of the workshop will be two short lectures outlining the methods of lung isolation: one on the use of double-lumen endobrochial tubes and the other on bronchial blockers. The second part will provide the opportunity delegates to participate in a "hands-on" workshop on the methods of lung separation. Stations with fibroscopes attached to video cameras and mannequins with lung models will be available for demonstration and practice. These will include the insertion and positioning of left- and right-sided double-lumen endobronchial tubes, Univent tubes, bronchial blockers and the use of tube exchanger for patients with difficult airways will also be demonstrated. In addition, this year there will be a thoracic anaesthesia simulator.
