Welcome    On behalf of the European Association of Cardiothoracic Anaesthesiologists (EACTA) and in collaboration with the Society of Cardiovascular Anaesthesiologists (SCA) it is a pleasure and a privilege to invite you to become an industry partner at the 27th Annual Meeting of the European Association of Cardiothoracic Anaesthesiologists which will take place in the RAI, Amsterdam from 23rd - 25th May 2012.Our theme 'Teamwork @ the Cutting Edge' conveys our wish to address the pressing need for change in the way different specialities share knowledge in order to improve performance across all disciplines. EACTA 2012 therefore will focus on how a multi-disciplined approach can transform patient outcomes and will give more than usual attention to multidisciplinary aspects of congenital cardiac surgery as well. We are confident that our innovative programme will attract not only European cardiac anaesthesiologists but also members of collaborating specialities such as cardiac surgeons, perfusionists, intensivists and interventional cardiologists as they have worked closely with us on designing the content and delivery of what promises to be a progressive and thought-provoking educational experience. EACTA 2012 will offer you a unique platform to connect with all of these disciplines in a meaningful way through educational symposia, live marketing, social media platforms, speaker support and other channels. Our teamwork ethos extends not just to our collaborative specialties but also to our industry partners as we are all key stakeholders in the EACTA Annual Meeting and of course our daily professional lives and we trust that this will be evident in how we work together over the coming months and years.
