Transportation in Istanbul
Transportation in Istanbul is provided via bus, ferry, taxi, minibus, subway,tram, light railway.
Bus: Public and private buses are very popular. Those buses operate frequently to different destinations in the city. You can read the name of the place you would like to go, on the sign on the side window in the front. Foreign currency is NOT accepted.
You can purchase the tickets from the ticket offices next to the stations. Sometimes you can find tickets in little corner convenience shops. There are different types of tickets such as Akbil, Istanbul-Kart in the smart-ticket offices in return for a certain amount. For the long distance you may need to use the double-deckers buses with double tickets.
Ferry: The ferries work between European stations (Eminonu, Besiktas, Karakoy) and Asian Side (Kadikoy, Bostanci, Uskudar).
Minibus (Dolmus): Minibuses are small buses which do not have a specific time table. They begin operating at 06:00 am in the morning and finish about 01:00 am You pay cash to the driver and the fee changes depending on the line.
Tram: Trams are new and very convenient in the touristic areas. There are ticket offices at the tram stations.
Subway: The "Istanbul Metro" is very convenient if you want to see the downtown and commercial centers in the city. You can purchase the tickets from the ticket offices next to the stations. There is metro station in the Ataturk Airport which takes you to the city.
PUBLIC TRANSPORTATION from KADIKOY to ACIBADEM UNIVERSITY
By Metro;
By using the Kadıköy – Kartal metro on the Anatolian side of Istanbul;
• When you take the metro from Kadıköy Station, you get off 12 minutes later at Kozyatağı Station, and reach ACU after a 15 minute walk in the Kayışdağı direction.
• When you take the metro from Kartal Station, you get off 20 minutes later at Kozyatağı Station, and reach ACU after a 15 minute walk in the Kayışdağı direction.
By Bus;
• 19K, 19Y, 19V, 19S, 19T, 14A from Kadıköy Rıhtım
• ACU is easily accessible by taking the 11T or 320A busses from Üsküdar, and getting off at the 'Bağlariçi' stop.
Directions from Sabiha Gokcen Airport (SAW) to Acıbadem University / Conference Hotel
Option 1 – Taxi
You can take a taxi cab from Sabiha Gokcen Airport to either Acibadem University Campus or Conference hotel. The easiest and fastest way for travel is to take a cab. Payments are made in cash and Turkish Liras. Please make sure that you get a cab from the official taxi line.
Option 2 – Shuttle Bus to Kadikoy + Taxi
You can take the shuttlebus from Sabiha Gokcen Airport to Kadikoy (city center of the Asian side of Istanbul) and then get a taxi cab to reach Acibadem University or conference hotels. Option 3 – Shuttle Bus to Kadikoy + Public Transportation
You can take the shuttlebus from Sabiha Gokcen Airport to Kadikoy (city center of the Asian side of Istanbul) and use public transportation to reach Acibadem University or conference hotels. Option 2 - Shuttlebus
Shuttlebusses from Istanbul Ataturk Airport are available to Taksim (city center of the European side of Istanbul) however the taxi cab travel from Taksim to symposium venue will not be short. We recommend to take a direct cab from airport to the venue/hotel.
